Why You Should Prebook Your Dog’s Christmas Grooming Appointment?

Hey Woofa’s,

We all know that Christmas Day falls on the 25th December every year, am I right?

But every year I get people ringing around days before Christmas trying to get their dog in for grooming.

It’s not just me, speaking to many other Groomers world wide, we all get it.

People desperately trying to get you to book in another dog on your already over booked days.

I use to let it get to me!   I’d take on the stress of the other person who left it to the last minute to get their dog groomed.

And I’d go out of my way and go way beyond my closing hours to get them in, but I’ve stopped.

Because there’s generally no appreciation for it, you’re just the idiot who said yes.

Have the calls stopped, NOPE!

I don’t think they ever will because there’s ALWAYS going to be people who want to book their dog in last minute!

They call every Groomer in town.

WHY YOU SHOULD PREBOOK YOUR DOG’S CHRISTMAS GROOMING APPOINTMENT?

If you prebook your dog’s Christmas grooming appointment, your dog will get groomed and be nice for Christmas Day.

Generally, regular customers pre-book their appointments!  While they’re finished one appointment they book for the next.

This way you get to book the day and time that suits you!

It is what I do with my hair dresser as well!   This way you know you’ll get done!

Also, come September/October, I’ll prompt my customers and ask if they want to book their Christmas appointment.

Some look at me like I’m bonkers and decline, but guess who is ringing me 2 weeks out from Christmas wanting a spot.

Most know that Christmas bookings fill up fast and will book in.

THE CANCELLATION LIST!

Most Groomers have a cancellation list.

So if they are booked out, they’ll have a list of people to call if someone cancels.

I mainly have one around Christmas time.

However, my Saturdays do fill up fast so if someone calls wanting to get in on a Saturday they can also go on the list.

This way, dogs get done and Groomers aren’t out any money from someone having to cancel their appointment.

WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?

If you have a dog that needs grooming and you want it all nicely groomed for Christmas, you should already have it booked in with your Groomer.

If you do not already have a Christmas grooming appointment with your Groomer, then ask to go on their cancellation list.

You may just get a spot.

Next Year, don’t forget to Prebook Your Christmas Grooming Appointment, your Groomer will love you for it as will your dog.
