Welcome 2023!

Hey Woofa’s,

Welcome 2023!

The New Year is upon us whether we’re ready for it or not!

Time ticks on no matter what we do!

Life moves on no matter what we choose to do or not do!

Even not choosing is choosing!

I feel we’ve become a very disconnected race.

For all the technology we have we have lost the art of genuine communication.

We have lost the art of doing nothing.

The ability to appreciate what/who is around us appears to have vanished.

We have become obsessed with social media (not saying it’s all bad don’t get me wrong)!

How many likes, followers and views we can get is more important than picking up the phone and having a conversation.

Or meeting family and/or friends to catch up over lunch/dinner etc.

Our inability to question what is told to us by, influencers, media, news etc is worrying.

Some people accept what is said without any further thought!

I don’t know where the human race is headed.

But unless we reconnect human to human, without technology, it’s not a bright future!

WHAT’S THIS GOT TO DO WITH DOGS?

As I type this, Billy is laying here beside me on the floor just hanging out.

He’s living in the now.

Each moment he has he throughly enjoys.

Whether he’s laying around, on a walk, outside sunning himself, laying under the bushes in the garden, running along the side fence barking with the dog next door, eating, begging for treats  or chasing his ball –  he lives in the now.

Our dogs are very good at living in the now.

We as humans, need less screen time and more dog time.

I always say our dogs train us we don’t train them.

They know all the stuff it can take us a lifetime to really get.

And that is to appreciate who and what we have right now.

To love who we are right now, to just be who we are right now!

Our dogs love us unconditionally, we need to really see ourselves the way our dogs do.

To love ourselves unconditionally, and be kinder to ourselves.

That’s what 2023 should be all about – seeing ourselves for who we truly are – as our dogs already do.

WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?

We need to live our lives as our dogs do, simply and with true meaning.

We need to put our devices down and truly communicate with each other.

Welcome to 2023!  Let’s see what’s in store for us.
