The Dog Groomer’s Christmas Cancellation List!!!

Hey Woofa’s,

We all know that Christmas Day falls on the 25th December every year!

Every year Dog Groomers worldwide are bombarded with last minute calls from people begging for a Christmas grooming appointment!

People desperately pleading, and rather rudely, trying to get  THEIR dog booked in on an already over scheduled calendar.

Then when advised that there’s no bookings left they get downright angry and rude.

After 20 years of Dog Grooming I don’t think the calls will ever stop!

Because some people are just last minute people and they expect everyone else to fall into place!

When this doesn’t happen they’re not pleasant………………and it’s frustrating to say the least!

THE DOG GROOMER’S CHRISTMAS CANCELLATION LIST!

Not all Groomers offer a Christmas Cancellation List!

Some are booked out months and months in advance and it’s not feasible to offer one.

However, I do!

But with no guarantees that a spot will become available.

Most regular Dog Grooming Customers know that they need to book their Christmas appointment by September – at the latest!

To some this may sound extremely early but if you want a spot you’ll get in early.

I do this with my own Hairdresser!

Obviously there’s room for movement!

It happened to me this year, I had two customers with pre-booked Christmas appointments and they needed to change.

Luckily both were available at the others appointment so we could swap.

Not having one at all and wanting to squeeze into an already super busy appointment schedule is much less likely.

I do however offer two things –

  1. to make a January booking because January fills up with the fall over from December ( so sometimes that fills up fast also); and
  2. to go onto the Christmas Cancellation List, with no guarantee that a spot will become available.

I  advise people to do both!  That way if a spot doesn’t open up before Christmas, at least they have a January appointment.

I think this is better than offering nothing.

To avoid all this though, when your Groomer suggests in September to book for Christmas that you say yes……….it’s as simple as that!

WHY YOU SHOULD BOOK YOUR DOG’S CHRISTMAS GROOMING APPOINTMENT EARLY?

As I keep saying, in September I always suggest people book their dog in for their Christmas grooming appointment!

Regular customers will do so.  When on appointment is finished the next one is booked.

This way they get to book the day and time that suits them!

And they know they’ll have a nicely groomed dog for Christmas.

It’s called being organized.

Don’t be surprised if you ring your Groomer now and they can’t get you in until January or February!!!!!

Yes I’m serious!!!

We’re 9 days out from Christmas Day………………!

WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?

If you have a dog that needs grooming and you want it all nicely groomed for Christmas, you should already have it booked in with your Groomer.

If you do not already have a Christmas grooming appointment with your Groomer, then ask to go on their cancellation list.

9 days out from Christmas though be prepared to book for January or even February!!!

So this doesn’t happen, next year, listen to your Dog Groomer and prebook your Christmas Dog Grooming Appointment in September when they suggest so.

Your Groomer will love you for it as will your dog.
