FUR-EVER LOVED!

Hey Woofa’s,

I’ve been ‘out of service’ with the flu these last few days!

I just finished telling a friend how I hadn’t had the flu in years as well : (

Billy hasn’t left my side either, bless him.

ANYWAY while I’ve been off apart from sleeping, I’ve also been getting in some light reading.

FUR-EVER LOVED “A Letter To My Dog”, by Ken Drake is truly amazing.

I picked it up earlier this year and haven’t had a chance to read it and OMG!

BOOK REVIEW!

FUR-EVER LOVED is a heartfelt book full of letters written by Dog Owners to their Dogs!

What a fantastic idea?

Ken Drake’s portraits of the Dogs are truly touching as well.  He really captures the innocence in their eyes, the playfulness and the longing.

The book is a true sentiment of how much our Fur Babies really are a part of our lives.  The impact our Fur Babies have on our lives is endless.

So many of the letters written mention how much their Fur Babies saved them or got them through a difficult time in their lives.

Some of the letters are to Fur Babies still here, mentioning the mischief they get up to and how their owners wouldn’t have it any other way.

Other letters are to Fur Babies that have crossed Rainbow Bridge.

You can feel the heartache pour off the page in the letters to those Fur Babies that have passed.

I can highly recommend any Dog Owner to give FUR-EVER LOVED a read.  Definitely have the tissues ready though.

This wonderful heartfelt book would make a great gift to a Dog Owner or a great coffee table book.

The letters aren’t long, 1 page, and after each letter I needed a moment to get myself together before reading the next.

WILL YOU CRY – Yes, I did!

WILL YOU LAUGH – Yes, I did also!

WILL YOU WANT TO HUG YOUR OWN FUR BABIES – Yes.

WILL YOU WANT TO WRITE YOUR OWN FUR BABY A LETTER – Probably.

WHY NOT WRITE YOUR DOG A LETTER NOW?

When  “Iggy” died I put photos of him in a project book and decorated them in his honour.  I placed it in a memory box along with his show ribbons.

I wrote Henry a letter when he died it was 5 pages long!  I cried my way through it.

Isabel also got a letter.

HOWEVER, your Fur Baby doesn’t have to be gone for you to write them a letter.

It’s just a great way to let them know you love them.  It’s very therapeutic!

Give it a go!  Grab a pen, or keyboard, a cuppa and get writing.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

All the dogs mentioned in FUR-EVER LOVED are most definitely loved and will always be loved.

Our Fur Babies aren’t just our best friends they are deeply loved members of our family who dig deep down into our souls and remain there FUR-EVER.

Billy and I would love to hear – in the comments below- what you love most about your Fur Babies!

Cheers
