As much as we tried to prevent Billy from being fed ‘party food’ on Christmas Day he still got a bit of an upset tummy!

So for 3 days we fed him Boiled Chicken & Rice.

This bland meal brings their belly back into alignment.

15 minutes to prepare.

Cost Estimation of Meal 

Chicken Breast Fillets  $6.92

1 Cup of Rice $0.50 (rounded up)

TOTAL OVERALL COST– $7.42

We fed this to Billy over 4 nights

TOTAL COST PER MEAL – $1.90

Meal Preparation Time – 15 minutes

Ingredients

•  x 2 chicken breast fillets
•  x 1 cup of rice (white or brown rice is fine, we only had rice with Quinoa in the cupboard so I used that)

Method

1. Fill saucepan, roughly 1/2 way, with water and place on stove.  Turn stove on to medium.
2. Add chicken breast fillets into the saucepan as they are.
3. Wait for them to boil and cook all the way through.
4. Fill another saucepan, 1/2 way, with water and place on stove. Turn stove on to medium.
5. Add Cup of rice.
6. Once the chicken breasts are cooked, remove from water and let them cool to room temperature.
7. Once cooled, shred them with a fork and place into a bowl.
8. Once rice is cooked, remove from water and add to chicken.
9. Stir in, and wait for ingredients to become room temperature (or luke warm).
10. Depending on the size of your dog will depend on the portion you serve them.
