Hi there, beautiful one!
My name is Janine and I’m honoured to have you stop by for a look see! In case you didn’t already know, dogs are my passion, I love all animals, but dogs are definitely my passion. I’ve been surrounded by dogs all my life, and I’m told I can talk about dogs ‘until the cows come home’! When do they come home you ask, well exactly, who knows??
I have been in the Dog Grooming industry for 11 years now, I started with a franchise company and completed my 10 year contract, and now I’m lucky enough to finally (after many, many, many soul searching years) be working in my own Home Based Dog Grooming Salon, yay!!!! After many Receptionist, Secretarial, Personal Assistant roles and a uni degree later, I woke up to what I really wanted to do.
Henry was the very first staffy I owned on my own, my dad and two of his mates use to show and breed English Staffordshire Bull Terriers so I pretty much grew up around the show ring. I did show Henry a few times and came 2nd and 3rd but the scene had changed or my view of it had. Henry was a cheeky talking staffy and I loved him (still do) like he was my child. I talk in past tense because Henry died at 11 years old from a brain tumour, his paw prints are still all over my heart.
Isabel came into our lives about 12months after Henry, I remember having her inside as a puppy and he cried all night at the back door so he came in and they were inseparable from then on. They had a few litters in their time and I was honoured to be there for Isabel each time, she was the best mum ever. After Henry passed, Isabel and I were together for 3 years before Billy came along, she was 12 and became his surrogate mother. I think he gave her a few extra years, he kept her young. Isabel died of old age at 15.5 years last year (2015) in August. Her paw prints are also all over my heart.
It’s just Billy and I for now and we’re doing well. I draw comfort believing that Henry and Isabel are back together again watching over us.
I have many beautiful dog (animal) lovers come to my Salon each day and we’re always laughing and sharing stories about our fur kids and it’s this fun and passion and insight that I want to share with you through Woofalicious Tales.
